1. Scope of Service
Core Trading Enterprise provides specialized delivery services for shipping containers (10ft, 20ft, 40ft, and specialized units) to all locations within South Africa. We utilize specialized heavy-duty vehicles, including crane trucks (HIAB) and flatbeds, to ensure safe and precise placement.
2. Delivery Timelines
- Standard Delivery: Once payment reflects and your order is confirmed, delivery typically occurs within 3 to 7 business days, depending on the delivery region and unit availability.
- Urgent Delivery: Expedited delivery may be arranged upon request, subject to vehicle availability and additional surcharges.
- Delays: In accordance with Section 19 of the CPA, we commit to performing services timeously. If an unavoidable delay occurs (e.g., extreme weather or mechanical failure), we will provide reasonable notice and a revised delivery schedule.
3. Shipping Costs
Delivery fees are calculated based on the distance from our nearest depot to your site and the type of offloading equipment required.
- All quotes provided are valid for 7 days.
- Any additional time spent on-site due to lack of preparation (exceeding the standard 60-minute offloading window) may incur standing time charges.
4. Customer Site Responsibilities
To ensure a successful delivery, the customer is responsible for:
- Clear Access: Ensuring the road and entrance can accommodate a heavy-duty truck (minimum 3m width and 4.5m height clearance).
- Ground Conditions: The site must be level, firm, and stable. We cannot be held liable for trucks getting stuck or containers sinking on soft or uncompacted ground.
- Obstacles: Removing low-hanging branches, power lines, or other obstructions.
- Permits: Obtaining any necessary municipal or HOA permits for placing the container on-site.
5. Risk and Inspection
- Passing of Risk: In line with South African law, the risk in the goods passes to the customer upon offloading at the designated delivery address.
- Right to Examine: Under Section 19(5) of the CPA, you have the right to examine the container upon delivery to ensure it matches the description and quality agreed upon.
- Acceptance: Once the delivery note is signed, it serves as confirmation that the unit was received in the expected condition. Please report any material discrepancies to the driver immediately.
6. Cancellations and Returns
- Cancellation: You may cancel your order at any time before the truck has been dispatched. Cancellations made after dispatch will incur a “failed delivery” fee to cover transport costs.
- CPA Compliance: If the goods are found to be defective or not as described at the time of delivery, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with Section 56 of the CPA.
